Never Fail Recipes: Condensed Milk Biscuits

Time to reveal another of my secret ‘Never Fail’ recipes. Well, if I’m totally honest I actually found this on the net myself a few years back – but it’s far to good not to pass on to you.    Condense Milk Biscuits.  Easy and very very yummy.  I only wish I could remember where I found it so I can give credit.  If it was you – “thank-you”.

1 500g tub of margarine or butter
1 cup of sugar
1 tin of condensed milk
5 cups of SR flour


Cream margarine and sugar together
Add tin of condensed milk and mix well
Add flour a cup at a time and mix well
Roll into balls and cook in for 12 minutes at 180c. 

100s and 1000s biscuits = happy kids.

That’s it.  When I first discovered this recipe I didn’t even have a mixer so mixed  it all by hand – and it worked fabulously. It  makes a large batch  – perfect for school holidays.  Alternatively the mixture freezes well.  Just roll it up into a sausage shape and wrap in cling wrap.  Then it’s ready for the next time you want to bake biscuits.   Great for when kids come over and you need an instant snack.  (Best not to add anything to the basic mixture for freezing.)

  The great thing about this little gem of a recipe is  the unlimited ways you can dress it up.  A big favourite with the little pink people at my house is 100s of 1000s.  I’m sure I’m not alone in having kids who love those!

Sultana and cornflakes

For a slightly more adult version mix in sultana’s and press the balls into cornflakes before putting them on the tray.  Chopped up glazed cherries  and chocolate chips is also adorable.   Really the options are endless.    A friend was visiting when we cooked this batch and she is going to try them with muesli.   Just be warned these little biscuits are very yummy and if you make up the entire batch at once you’ll have rather a few to deal with.  I tend to make them as larger cookies – but you could easily make the smaller and have even more!

Probably a bit of a silly question but did you guys use a 400g can of condensed milk? Hope so, that’s all I have!

Hey these cookies look divine!!.. Was just wondering are they crumbly? or are they chewy? because I didn’t want to make a whole lot and not like them!! haha

Oh, I do love that you have shared this awesome recipe. An older friend gave this exact same recipe to me a few years back, and I use it ALOT! So far with choc chips, coconut, whitechoc/macadamias, sultanas, glaced cherries (for xmas)… the possibilities are endless. But I’m loving the 100s and 1000s. Too cute!

It’s such a great mixture!! We use it a lot around here. White chocolate and macadamia – be trying that for the grown ups. Sounds just to yummy!!

I love these… i like them with a packet of chopped glace cherries mixed through and baked, choc chips or choc chip and some peppermint essence!
Although the basic sultana is fantastic too i’ll have to try them with some other combinations too!

Yes – it’s reply me. Highly recommend it. Hmmmm- homemade ice cream sounds good too!! Enjoy all the cooking. I have just put pumpkin soup on the stove. Not ice-cream but still yummy!!

Ella and I cook a batch of biscuits every week, so I’ll be keen to try these ones, Caz. They look delish. And I love how you can adapt them.
Speaking of condensed milk, I have a friend who puts condensed milk on her Rice Bubbles for breakfast!! 🙂

I have found these perfect for making with the girls. So easy and great for helping hands. Mind you little pink (3) probably eats more mixture than helps – but I guess that’s part of the fun at that age 🙂

I’ll be trying those for sure. One whole tub of butter/marg??? Wow but worth it. They look like a great idea for selling at cake stalls too 🙂 Now to keep that hubby of mine away from the condensed milk tin.hmmmmmmm. 🙂

It is a lot of butter hey – but it does make up a big batch. I have that trouble with the kids and the condensed milk:)
